How to Use the Password Generator

Creating a secure password is essential for protecting your online accounts. Use the slider or input field to set your desired password length between 8 and 128 characters. Then select which character types to include: uppercase letters (A-Z), lowercase letters (a-z), numbers (0-9), and symbols (!@#$%^&*). Click the Generate button to create a random, secure password instantly.

For the strongest passwords, enable all character types and use a length of at least 16 characters. You can generate up to 10 passwords at once if you need multiple secure passwords, for example when setting up several new accounts. Use the copy button to quickly copy any generated password to your clipboard.

Why Strong Passwords Matter

Weak passwords are the leading cause of security breaches. A password like "password123" can be cracked in seconds, while a random 16-character password with mixed character types would take millions of years to brute force. Our generator uses the Web Crypto API to ensure true randomness, giving you passwords that are cryptographically secure and virtually impossible to guess.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a password strong?

A strong password is at least 12 characters long and includes a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special symbols. The more character types and length you use, the harder it is to crack.

Is it safe to generate passwords online?

Our password generator runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No passwords are sent to any server or stored anywhere. The generation uses the Web Crypto API for cryptographically secure randomness.

How long should my password be?

We recommend at least 16 characters for important accounts. For maximum security, use 20 or more characters. Longer passwords are exponentially harder to crack with brute force attacks.

Should I use different passwords for every account?

Yes, absolutely. Reusing passwords means that if one account is compromised, all your other accounts become vulnerable. Use a unique password for each account and store them in a password manager.

How does the password strength meter work?

The strength meter evaluates password length and character variety. Passwords under 8 characters are weak, 8-11 with mixed types are fair, 12-15 with good variety are strong, and 16+ with all character types are very strong.
